What are Anti Wrinkle Injections?

Anti-Wrinkle Injectables work by blocking signals between the nerves and muscles. This prevents muscles from contracting and forming lines on the surface of the skin.

What does the treatment involve?

Anti-wrinkle injectables are injected directly into the facial muscles using a very fine needle. A topical anesthetic may be applied to the skin prior to the injections for patient comfort. Injections take just a few minutes to complete, depending on the number of areas to be treated.

How many injections will I need?

The number of anti-wrinkle injections varies, based on the depth of the wrinkles and the size of the treatment area.

How long do the results last?

Anti-wrinkle injections may last anywhere from three to six months. Touch-up sessions will be required to maintain results.

POST CARE INFORMATION

Anti-wrinkle injectable treatments are performed as an outpatient procedure with little discomfort and no recovery time afterward.
To ensure the best possible results, follow these post-care recommendations:

• Avoid lying down for a number of hours after Anti-wrinkle treatment, to prevent migration of the toxin
• Ice packs or cool compresses minimize mild swelling and bleeding
• Avoid alcohol and postpone strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours
• Avoid any exposure to any heat treatments such sauna, hot tub or tanning for 48 hours as it will make your treatment less effective.
• Paracetamol is recommended for any headaches or pain. Try to avoid medicines such as ibuprofen (Nurofen) or diclofenac (Voltaren) for the next 24 hours.

How many injections will I need?

The amount of dermal filler required will vary, based on the area to be treated, the depth of the wrinkle and the desired results. Shallow facial lines will require less solution, while hollow cheeks and deep forehead creases may need significantly more to achieve desired results.

How long will the results last?

Results typically last six to 24 months. Treatment in the lip area does not last as long – usually around three to six months before additional procedures are needed.

What else do I need to know?
